We reply within one business day. Include your store's myshopify domain and, if a number looks wrong, the date range you were looking at. That is usually enough to reproduce it exactly.
Kept is a Shopify app that answers one question: what did this store actually keep?
It takes your net sales, subtracts the cost of the goods you sold, the shipping you paid, your payment processing fees and your ad spend, and shows you the contribution margin that is left, per day, per period and per product. It compares this period with the last one and tells you in plain language what moved.
Contribution margin is not net profit. Kept deliberately leaves fixed costs like rent, salaries and software out, and it says so on the screen, because guessing at your overheads would make the number less trustworthy rather than more complete.
Usually it is not. Kept matches Shopify's own definition of net sales (gross, less discounts, less returns, excluding tax and shipping) on purpose. When there is a difference, Kept shows a comparison panel that names the cause, most often refund timing or an order that was cancelled and recreated. Everything drills through to the orders behind it.
Kept starts with the unit costs already in your Shopify products, adds real supplier charges if you connect a fulfilment provider, and falls back to a percentage you can edit for anything left over. Every estimated figure is marked, and the app tells you which few products would improve accuracy most if you fixed them. You are useful on day one and accurate by week two.
No. The customer permission is optional and is used for one thing, telling a new customer from a returning one. Kept does not use or store shopper names, email addresses, phone numbers or addresses. Details are in the privacy policy.
No. You can connect Meta, Google Ads and TikTok for a daily automatic spend figure, or type a total in by hand, or run no ads at all, in which case Kept shows a version of the dashboard built for that rather than a row of dashes.
Three plans, priced by order volume only: $29 a month up to 500 orders, $59 up to 2,000, $99 for unlimited. Every feature is on every plan, there are no per-order overage fees, and there is a 14 day free trial. Annual billing gives you two months free. Billing runs through Shopify and appears on your Shopify invoice.
Syncing stops immediately and we delete everything we hold for your store within 30 days. Reinstall inside that window and your history and cost work are still there.
Yes, any time. Email support and we will send a machine-readable export of everything we hold for your store, at no charge.
Your store domain, the page you were on, the date range, and what you expected to see instead. Screenshots help. If a sync has stalled, say roughly when you last saw fresh data.
